Over two days in mid July '06, Jamie, Murray and George upgraded the Pirongia to McGregors link from 2.4GHz to 5.8GHz. This also required an upgrade from an Advantech to Soekris at MCG.

Murray and Daniel headed to Murupara to fix the solar site at the top of Mount Tawhiuau which had stopped responding. It turned out that a solar controller had stopped working. A new solar controller and batteries were fitted at the site. While the Batteries were Choppered in Murray, Daniel and BJ (the local electrican) had to walk two hours to get to the top
